Old War Shirt is made up of Jon, Dustin Poulton and David Pope. Their sound has been referred to as "fast folk pop" characterized by interesting and unusual vocals backed by a solid three-piece setup. Their debut album, Nighttime Songs Under the Stars of San Rafael, consists of solo recordings by Cournoyer and was named one of "Top 25 albums of the 2008"
by WUHM 91.7FM Allentown, PA.

A recent review by G. Sammons of U.N.C.L.E. PROMO stated
"As reference is sometimes the shortest distance between two comparative points, please know that the following likening is given with the highest regard for Old War Shirt's Nighttime Songs Under the Stars of San Rafael: If you have a strong appreciation for lo-fi recordists in the ilk of Mark Linkous's Sparklehorse, or Jay Reatard, you will most definitely have a strong appreciation for the aforementioned. The not-out-of-place detuned-sounding guitars and seeming intentional laxity of the recording process adds significantly to the intimate feeling of the remix of "What's Going On?" [vers. 2], as well as the acerbic "Loaded Pistol" ("I'm looking for a loaded pistol, going to go to Inglewood and find me one..."). A gorgeous diamond in glorious rough."

Their video for He Lies To Myself, directed by Adam Bluming NELA Films, was accepted into the San Francisco International Short Film Festival of 2009. The band has also been composing for Sesame Street Channel and NELA films for the 39th Season of Sesame Street.

Old War Shirt played an intrical part of the exhibition ROCK PAPER SCISSOR at the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica, CA. Jon curated the exhibition and performed along with The NicheMakers (featuring Raymond Pettibon) along with Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and Mike Watt.

The band released their first studio album "Symbols & Jibberish" in 2010.

The band composed original tracks for the web-series "The Homes" on Lockerz.com in 2011

The Nichemakers
are a band revolving around the words and inspiration of internationally acclaimed artist Raymond Pettibon. An icon of contemporary art, Pettibon has exhibited at MOCA, SFMOMA, Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art and his work is in the permanent collections of galleries and museums throughout the world. His early artistic roots lie in music, specifically in the Los Angeles punk rock scene, both designing artwork and performing along with brother Greg Ginn in Black Flag as well as designing artwork for other bands such as The Minutemen, SST Records' stable, Foo Fighters, and Sonic Youth among others. He has continually created music over the last twenty years under various band names and collaborated with the likes of Mike Watt, Firehose, and Unknown Instructors.

The band consists of the principal members above and frequently has special guests which partake in awkward performances and investigatory recording sessions. The compositions are choreographed to the endless pages of Pettibon's lyrics, either vocalized by himself or other band members, and are held together with a sound based on early New Orleans jazz and campfire spirituals. Members of the Nichemakers are simultaneously both seasoned and up and coming musicians in Los Angeles, taking part in other projects such as Old War Shirt, the Slings, and the Hootenanny All-Stars. The band recentlyreleased it's debut album Soul Sealed the Deal on vinyl and Itunes.

Satellite Class reunited in 2011 with Mark Giorgione (drums/vocals) and Jonny Cournoyer (guitar/vocals) picking up where they left off after a 5 year hiatus. Their last album, Romance Revival, was never released and had been recorded back in 2006 mostly live and under trying sonic conditions in a chinatown rehearsal space and an art gallery at bergamot station in santa monica. A few of the key tracks have been remixed and sweetened up tastefully in honor of this romance revival and can be downloaded on their site.
For 2012, They have added Dustin Poulton (slings) on bass and recorded a few new demos which can be heard on their site>>>>
